Our approach

We teach horsemanship first — not just how to stay on, but how to understand and care for the horse under you. Lessons run year-round, indoors and out, and the same family methods have been passed down and refined since 1985. Beginners build real confidence; experienced riders keep growing.

Lesson questions

What happens in a first lesson?
First-timers usually start on the ground — meeting the horse, learning to lead and groom — before mounting up for walk work on a lead. No experience and no gear beyond closed-toe shoes with a small heel are needed; we supply the horse and a helmet.
Should I book private or group lessons?
Private lessons move at your pace and suit nervous beginners or riders working on a specific goal; group lessons cost less and many riders enjoy learning alongside others. Tell us your goals and we’ll recommend a fit.
Is there an age limit — for kids or adults?
We teach young children through adults. Kids start with short, patient sessions built around confidence; adult beginners are common here and never too late to start.
What does a lesson cost?
Cost depends on private vs. group and the lesson length, so we quote it directly rather than list a rate — call the barn and we’ll sort out scheduling and pricing together.
